"Existatio Proserpinae" - The Emergence of Persephone. Caught on the cusp of her transformation from Kore, the maiden, to Persephone, the Queen of Hell. She stands in the sign of Puella, the young girl, naked and vulnerable; yet she is crowned with jewels, and her gaze is the direct and confident one of a mature woman. Behind her left shoulder stands her King, Hades, and behind her right the shadow of the pomegranate, that fruit which made tangible the acceptance of her adult role.
